What a wonderful way to begin the Winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.  This is the first clear sky in 3 or 4 days of rain and there is more to come, so this sunrise is like a celebration of the new season.

We have two lovely teen granddaughters who drove up from LA, tucked in warm beds while this photo was taken, so this is a celebration day for me, too.
