Dave’s Garden Photo Contest entries

Dave’s garden is having a photo contest, so…I decided to enter the photo of the poppy ‘butterfly’ I saw next to the garden path last year, then found a few more I liked to enter. These are my entries…so far!

There are many subject categories, for example, Annuals, Scenery or Pets and you can enter two photos per category. Each first-place category winner will receive a free one-year subscription and a 2011 calendar featuring the winning photos from each category.  Why not try it?

Here are the details:   Dave’s Garden Photo Contest

What is Dave’s garden?  It is huge gardening website, hosting a large plant database with comments and photos by members, PlantFiles and other tools to use like Garden Journal, to keep records and notes on the plants you purchase and grow. I found it by searching online for information on how to grow certain plants I bought. There are very active forums on a large number of subjects. The ones I check often are California Gardening, Trash to Treasure and Garden Art. Fun!

Update: Results came in on November 15 and unbelievably, Maggie’s photo won second in Pets and the milkweed pods won second in Mushrooms, Fungi and Seed pods category!    Wow.
