What a wonderful way to begin the Winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.  This is the first clear sky in 3 or 4 days of rain and there is more to come, so this sunrise is like a celebration of the new season.

We have two lovely teen granddaughters who drove up from LA, tucked in warm beds while this photo was taken, so this is a celebration day for me, too.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and best wishes to all my friends here!

That amazing sky–What a terrific start to a holiday! Maybe the clouds that came with the rain also helped make for a thrilling dawn? I hope your holidays match the sunrise!
